    The Castelli in Arte circuit

The Langhe, Roero and Monferrato medieval castles open up to contemporary art. First tourist circuit that combines the beauty of the historical and artistic heritage of the castles with innovation and the ability to understand the present to imagine the future of contemporary art.

The land of Piedmont represents an excellence for its widespread presence of castles with its territory, probably unique in the world for density.

The hills of Langhe, Roero Monferrato offer the scenery of imposing castles that soars over ancient villages immersed in a panorama where wooded hills with vineyards harmoniously fit into the frame of Alps and Apennines.

The wine landscapes of this area are a heritage of Humanity, recognized by UNESCO as places where the wise hand of mankind has been able to collaborate with nature to create a viticulture respectful of the environment with a high-quality wine production. They convey intimacy and desire for deepening while contemporary art interacts continuously with its interpretative and innovative power, offering the visitors new spaces for thought and sharing.

Castles represents a significant element of this landscape: they stand out for the multiple architectural, stylistic and functional solutions that make them unique; no castle is a model for another one, thanks to the complicity of the story that has shaped each place in a different way.

The idea of incorporating contemporary art was born from the experience of the “No Name” collection set up at Morsasco Castle by the collector Marco Genzini in 2018. Castles are ancient places where big questions like the sense of time, space, happening, solitude, wealth, family… are strongly perceived.
